VHS tapes

well being the topic of VHS tapes came up somewhere around here recently, and i have a lot of tapes...and a VCR to play them, was thinking.

anyone ever use something like this to rip VHS tapes their HDD's?

Well, yea. About 100 yrs ago. I converted all the old family video to digital. I still have the tapes, but nobody (except you bracc) has a way to play them.

Of course, I threw away all the VHS hollywood movies we had.

this one is only $10... i guess in reality, most of these oldies are probably streaming free on youtube....

Yeah, had one of those. Also had a converter that would rip VHS tapes to CD-ROM. Of course, CD-ROM is now a ghost format with nothing left to play all those CDs. DVD is also going the way of the Do-Do Bird. Don't know what I'll do when streaming one day gets replaced.

It all started with the BetaMax. Damn you Sony! I knew it was a mistake to be an early adopter.

wait my blu-ray 'burner' in my computer still play cd's and dvd's...and bluray's? and i got a stack of blank blu-ray's too?
