Pitching the proper amount of yeast has come to be one of the more important aspects of brewing, with people using calculators to determine how large of starters are require for the beer they're making. Contributor Malcolm was curious just how pitch rates impacted beer, so he split a batch of the same wort and hit half with a typical amount of yeast for an ale while the other was pitched with the amount more typical of a lager.
