- Smooth and easy to drink
11.00 lb Pilsner (2 Row) Bel (2.0 SRM) Grain 91.7 %
0.50 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L (20.0 SRM) Grain 4.2 %
0.50 lb Honey Malt (25.0 SRM) Grain 4.2 %
2.00 oz Northern Brewer [8.50%] (60 min) Hops 58.2 IBU
2.00 oz Saaz [4.00%] (15 min) Hops 13.6 IBU
2.00 oz Saaz [4.00%] (5 min) Hops 5.5 IBU
1.10 items Whirlfloc Tablet (Boil 15.0 min) Misc
1 Pkgs SafLager West European Lager (DCL Yeast #S-23) [Starter 1893 ml] Yeast-Lager
Honestly, this was only my second lager. I am more of a dark brew drinker but most of my friends from the backwoods of TN like the ligher brews like Miller Lite, Bud, Coors, etc...
Well, since I like to keep the dark stuff for me I decided I'd give this Pilsner a try. It actually turned out really good even though I'm not really into the lighter colored brews.
I found a recipe on the web and tweaked it a bit by adding the Crystal and changing the yeast used.
Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Tim
