Yeah, Ruint, we count on you. It also compensates for people like me who can't keep up with posting. Well, it over-compensates. I probably roasted another 5 pounds last year that I didn't get around to posting.
Slightly off-topic:
I finished the 'fancier' coffees last year, and decided to order another ten pounds of the cheap ($4/lb) Brazilian from Wisconsin. I concluded that for me the roast profile completely dominates the flavor. For me there seems to be no point in buying expensive $10+/lb Jemeni mocca (some of which I really liked, but some I didn't) when I can roast a $4/lb Brazilian in a way that yields both a tasty espresso and a tasty breakfast americano.
Maybe my taste buds are not discerning enough? I definitely do like my roasts better than commercial coffees, e.g. Starbucks.
I do find though that I have to pay attention to where (at what temperature) and when I switch heater settings on my SR500; going completely by the seat of my pants does not give reproducible results.
Anyways, a happy 2021 to everybody! Don't burn your beans!
