Can I bend an RTD temp probe?

I've never done it but the resistor that makes it work is at the tip so you should be able to bend it further back away from the tip and it should still work but there is a lot of risk there. You could kink/crack the sheath or pinch the wires or damage the resistor if you bend to close to the tip. If you don't mind destroying it I say give it a go.
 
There is no problem in bending the probe, but do be careful with the tip area, as already mentioned. I've bent several of my RTDs to fit my installations. Do be careful to avoid kinking the tube. That will ruin them by either creating a leak or severing a wire.
