    Fruit position in secondary

let us know your experiences and how it turns out :) its very satisfying to make limoncello.. and you can have it in a bottle ready to drink in 7-10 days.. depending on the strength of the liquor you use to macerate. I personally use 195 proof neutral grain (Like 195 proof Everclear)...

    Chocolate addition help

Add the nibs to the secondary after letting them soak in vodka for at least 30 mins.. dont forget to add the vodka you used to soak the nibs in.. a lot of flavor will be in there. Why not add or up your chocolate malt in the mash? It will help with a bit of body and add some good...

You know you're a home brewer when?

When your friends stop hanging out at your place because that ultimately means they will be pulled into some sort of beer production "hey cap these bottles for me" or "hey can you help me pour the strike water?"

What's the next beer you're going to brew?

I dont brew very often believe it or not, but I made 3 beers in the last month.. so I probably wont be brewing for a couple of months.. hopefully I'll improve on my equipment in that time.. But im in the mood for something non-american.. was thinking either an english pale ale, maybe a...

    Blonde Coffee/chocolate stout

I'll agree that the steeped coffee i used in my pumpkin coffee ale surprisingly didnt add a lot of extra color to it. It went from an orange hue to just a darker or burnt orange color.. I used 28oz coffee for 5 gallons. You can also use this... its a new culinary product on the market...

    Donation Bottles Nightmares

I remember being much younger and collecting bottles and cans, and some sort of huge bug was in one of them that I didnt notice. Scared the hell out of me. Guess that carried into adulthood, cause all the bottles I use were leftover from my own drinkcapades. worst ive seen are bottles that...

very true :) you can still smell it in the air.. back in the 80s/90s, they say there were still parts of the street or sidewalk where it hardened like cement, and couldnt be removed.. not sure exactly if its still true.. anyways.. found this thread while looking up info on a belhaven clone :mug:

How long do you boil for all grain recipe?

everyone is right here.... I recently realized learning what your evaporation rate is, is very important to accurately predicting the outcome of your beer. Ive always boiled anywhere from 60-90 mins depending on the grain bill and what I planned for that batch.. but for the longest time...

    Aeration prior to ferment

How do all of you aerate your beer before you pitch the yeast? Some members of my brew club just use like an aquarium pump and a couple stones.. Ive never been concerned about aeration, but recently my beers have suffered, and picking up a full glass carboy and shaking it for a few mins is not...
