I used the juice as well yes, Its aging still but Ive had it aging for a month or two by now and Its still cloudy, I think it has something to do with the mango in it. I dont know what happened but something is "off" about it
I started 3 batches a month apart so that I could have a constant list of things to do rather than doing a lot all at once. My blueberry and blackberry mead was ready for tasting and I'm very happy to report that it is quite good. Below is part of the post I made on my website. If you want to...
Im not entirely sure, I havent used grain wort to make mead before. If there is a section that you want me to add in the spreadsheet let me know and I can send you an edited version of this that includes what you want.
I usually use bentonite in the later half of primary, works out pretty well but the last few batches Ive been putting it in secondary to see what the difference was and you have to stir a lot in secondary to get the same effect as putting it in primary
Ill be doing a formal writeup over the next few months with all the data that I have collected, Would you be interested in taking some readings for me with your batches and we can co-write this?
it was just a bit of an off topic question its fine, Yeast could however tell us how aggressive the fermentation process is creating more gas to stick to the tilt.
Interesting, I thought it was just me, do you mind if I screencap your graph for my write up so I can show that its not just me?
I totally forgot about adding energizer in a little later on, so that might be what the second spike was!
That color that you have looks amazing! Removing one bottle seems smart to see if you like it before or after better, that way you can decide what to do next batch!
I've been using Tilt to log my SG and temperature for the last 6 days of my brew and Its been working amazingly well except for a few spots with notes over them Blue is Sg and Red is Temp. There are two blue peaks that I have no idea what happened with.
Do any of you have any ideas of what is...
Im not quite sure about your calculations but the one that I know is true and correct and been using for years is the following:
ABV = (OG - FG) * 131.25.
Might be a little more simple than the one you are using.
