    Stuck Fermentaion, Champagne Yeast?

Probably just done. Beer knows when it's done. Cheers :D

Putting only 5 gallons in a 1/4 barrel keg?

I underfill cornies all the time. I don't see why there'd be any problems. After all, the volume goes down as you drink it. Especially if you purge with CO2, you'll be cool. Cheers :D

putting home made salsa in a beer bottle?

Yep. Botulism grows in unfrozen, unrefrigerated foods. And you can't taste it. And it kills you. So, it's scary stuff in improperly canned foods stored for a long time. No reason putting salsa in a beer bottle would be different than a tupperware if refrigerated. The acidity of salsa gives it...

    Dangerous Dogs?

I don't worry about Pits with people and I quite like Rotts usually. But I am always very wary when a Pit is around my dogs. I have two goofy lab/lab mixes and they have zero aggression. Pits do have a tendency for aggression towards other dogs that is bred into them. So I am very careful...

    Howdy y'all!

lol...will do soon. I'm bottling the framboise this weekend so I'll let you know how it tastes. The straight Lambic is definitely the interesting one what with the barrel, turbid mash and all. Especially since it has now moved hundreds of miles in its life. Hopefully it worked out. Cheers :D

    Stainless Conicals

You can ferment smaller batches in larger fermenters. No problemo. The ferment will generate CO2 and displace any O2 you might worry about. Cheers from the other side of the Bay :D

    Grinding Grains Early?

I used to buy pre-crushed grain a couple hundred pounds at a time and use it over a period of months. I never really noticed a difference vs grinding on brew day. I think the perishability of ground grain...and grain in general...is overrated. Keep it dry and cool...all the stuff that is...

2nd All Grain Batch, Bacteria or No Bacteria

Dang, if it was out of date when you bought it they really should have just given it to you. Every time B3 has shipped me out of date yeast they replaced it. Not that out of date yeast doesn't work, but it is slower. I'd make your starter more like 2 or 3 days ahead of time. Nothing you can do...

    I love whole hops!

Whole hops are the way! I switched years ago...actually I think I only used pellets a few times ever. Quality whole hops are easier to use and taste/smell way better. After all, you don't crush up, grind, powder and compress a dozen roses for your special lady friend on Valentines day. Why...

Engagement Rings-how much did it set you back?

Lucked out...she had a family ring from her grandmother. Just had to get it re-set/sized for a few hundred. My band was a few hundred. Wedding was on the cheap too other than flying to and staying in Hawaii for two weeks. Congrats and cheers :D

    Stainless Conicals

Pulled the trigger on a 14.5 gallon Fermenator yesterday. I'll admit I really wanted to go with the B3 option so much more for the welded fittings and better fittings. But I went Fermenator primarily because the size works better for me. Also, the lid seems a lot better. I may look into getting...

    Preventing Therminator clogging

Not to state the obvious, but...whole hops...they are superior to pellet hops in every way, except size, but as homebrewers we needn't concern ourselves with the displacement of hops in the kettle. Lucky us! :) Pellets have always been a nightmare for me and they don't taste or smell as good in...

Stout - To keg or not to keg

If you want then keg it. Bottling it will produce a normal CO2 body anywho. Nitro and a stout tap is fun but not at all necessary. Personally, I avoid bottling at all cost ;) Cheers :D

    Chili beer? What the hell...

I agree with you 100%. Of all the dumb ideas to come out of the homebrew/micro world in the name of creativity, this has to be among the worst. I love hot foods and chili peppers, but when I'm eating that stuff, I want a beer to go with it..a REGULAR beer ;) Chili pepper beer is nasty. Cheers :D

    Stainless Conicals

Interesting...does anyone here have one of the B3 ones? I've heard those lids can be a bit of a drag. For some reason weldless seems potentially leaky and also a PITA to take apart and clean. But no one seems to complain about it on the Fermenators...and the lid and size are very appealing. I...
