I did my first BIAB using a nylon mesh bag lining the GrainFather. I used the top cover (upside down) as the false bottom of the grain basket and put the bag in there. It fit perfect and made cleanup a real quick chore. The SG was only a few points off the estimated value so the bag did not...

While boiling the wort I use a lid on the kettle but a friend told me that having a lid on the boil kettle could cause off flavors. I wanted to try to limit the reduction of volume with the lid but this might be a bad idea. what do you think?

I am trying to brew a beer like Genny Cream ale or Grolsch. The brew store sold me Dingman's Pilsen grain but the color is way to dark. Is this the correct grain to use?

I have been blowing a quantity of CO2 into my secondary fermenter to try to push out the O2 just prior to filling it with the wort. Is this effective? Will the CO2 dissipate over time or will it lay on top of the beer like a protective blanket for the entire secondary conditioning process?
