    My Fully Enclosed Keezer Build

My father and I built a keezer recently. Thought I'd share some pictures of the process. First the finished product: You can see all pictures of the process here on imgur. Thanks for having a look, I'd be happy to receive comments/suggestions/questions.

I Think Acid Malt Is Giving Me Allergies

Been brewing for five years now. Never had the chance to brew with Acidulated Malt before since it is quite rare in Israel. Decided to brew my first lager, and bought a bit of Weyermann Acid Malt from the only LHBS that carries it. I got enough acid malt for two batches, so I had the lager...

The Amino One - new product that can be used by homebrewers to grow yeast?

An interesting new product called "The Amino One" popped up on the interwebs today. Supposedly it's a platform for growing living cells targeted at schools and hobbyists. They mention homebrewers as well, but their website is a bit confusing to me ("Apps"? what apps? what are they talking...

    Gas/Liquid Flows Freely Through Faucet

I bought my first ball lock corny keg and I'm in the process of kegging a batch for the first time. I also bought the CMB V3S faucet for serving. So anyway, I hooked the faucet and regulator to the keg filled with cleaning solution. I set the pressure on 2 psi and open the gas valve, and the...

Brewed a wit with flaked wheat, turned out very dark

I brewed a witbier yesterday (Hoegaarden clone), a 2.5 gallon batch, using 2.8 lbs of Pilsen Malt and 2.8 lbs of flaked wheat. Mashed at 154F for 60 minutes. The wort post mash was very dark, much darker than a wit should ever be (see pic below). Basically looks like a Dunkel I would say. The...

    All-Wheat Beer: Notes and Impressions

Hi there. The subject of an all-wheat-malt beer has already been tackled here a few times, but seems to lack notes on taste and final results. As such, I thought I'd share my impressions of an all-wheat beer I brewed lately, in case anyone is interested. My recipe was largely stolen from the...

New Gadget Can Help With Boil?

So while browsing uncrate.com today I noticed the Numiko, a kickstarter project for an immersion circulator that heats and maintains water at a specific temperature accurately. At first I was certain this could not be used for boiling, but the FAQ makes me wonder if this gadget might work...

Whole Wheat - Can I Brew With This?

Hi there. Sorry if this seems a stupid question. As LHBSs in Israel do not carry unmalted wheat, I'm wondering if I can use this stuff (from nature/organic stores) when brewing a recipe with unmalted wheat. Is this what I need (see the attached picture)? Is it missing anything?

Had to cut open LME container, need advice before brewing

Well, I was just about to start brewing a hefeweizen from extract. I started heating up water and when it reached boiling went to open the LME plastic jug (this is a Weyermann Bavarian Hefeweizen extract), only to find that the cap is completely stuck and cannot be moved (these packages are...
